About Me

I was born and raised in Gilbert Arizona. I have been big into sports all my life and have loved to watch and play them any chance I can get. Likewise all growing up, and even now, I am very into riding horses. My grandparents used to own a cattle ranch that I used to work on and that really taught me about hard work. I also still own and ride horses to this day. I participated in the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 15. I attended high school at Highland High School and was a part of the National Honors Society, enrolled in honors and AP classes, and played varsity football. Shortly after graduation from high school, I served a two year volunteer mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in southern Russia. While I was there I taught myself to speak, read, and write Russian fluently with the help of some grammar books. In Russia, I participated in many different service activities such as building houses, helping people learn English, etc. The other volunteers and I helped to bring people closer to God whenever they wanted to learn more about Him. I was also a leader over many other volunteers while in Russia. Upon returning home, I began attending Arizona State University, pursuing a previously decided degree in Electrical Engineering which, after one semester, I switched to a degree in Computer Systems Engineering with a minor in the Russian language. I chose to change my degree after taking CSE 110 and discovering my love for programming as I felt CSE is the perfect blend between Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I accelerated my bachelor’s program by taking as many credits as possible each semester, getting a few overrides to take extra credits, as well as utilizing my transferred AP test scores so that I was able to graduate in just three years. I also have been accepted into ASU’s accelerated 4+1 master’s program. This program allows one to overlap the final year of a bachelor’s degree with the first year of a master’s degree. This has put me on track to graduate with a Masters of Computer Science in May 2021. I have been happily married since January of 2019 and am excited to graduate with my master’s at a young age so that I can provide for my wife and my future children.
